The American Dream Project

We created this project in the hopes that by centering the voices of immigrants we could reveal the humanity in every immigrant story. Oftentimes, mainstream media has a tendency to leave out the human lives at stake in immigration discourse. This project is about putting a face to immigration discourse. We receive images from media and the President that actively dehumanize immigrants, especially those who are undocumented and Latinx. Our goal here was to deconstruct those stereotypes by offering a human perspective rooted in first-hand experience with the American immigration system.
