The Journey

A Poem by Teresa Pan

It was something I saw everyday

But every time I see it, it’s different

The people

The dogs

The pattern of leaves scattered on the floor

The buildings houses towering above me

The tired faces, alongside mine

And with this experience that I have

15 minutes each day

I have the chance to get to know this world better

This world is in the pavement I walk on

In the air I breathe

In the bricks and stones of the houses

In the trees, the animals

And I feel it there

The world wrapping around me like a protective barrier

As I walk on home.
